Welcome to the Northwest District

We are proud to serve as one of the largest geographical districts in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, covering Washington, Oregon, Montana, and Idaho. With over 4,400 miles of diverse waterways—from the Pacific coastline to inland rivers and lakes—our mission spans two vital Sectors: Sector Puget Sound and Sector Columbia River.

“Our responsibility to the U.S. Coast Guard, our marine partners, and the boating public remains our number one priority: Recreational Boating Safety (RBS)! Semper Paratus!”

New DCOINST: Communications Policy

Communications is the glue that holds our mission together. We recognize the operational challenges in maintaining seamless communication across the chain of leadership, and we are committed to strengthening these vital connections.

Official Directive:

Following the Strategic Planning retreat, the District Board approved

All members are directed to review and integrate these procedures into their unit operations.

Coming Soon: We are currently developing a dedicated Communications Resource Page. This portal will house standardized templates, frequency guidelines, and digital toolsets to sharpen our operational readiness.

Operational Highlight: Lake Tapps Assistance

Mission Update: Flotilla 3-3 Auxiliarists provide vital support during a nightfall emergency, demonstrating the commitment of the Auxiliary to recreational boating safety.
